What is Marine Corp. boot camp like for parents?

The video clip I produced is about what it’s like being the parent of a child in Marine Corp. boot camp.  The biggest challenge for me was not to be too emotional about it.  My son is currently in boot camp, and I did not want my emotions to overcome me where I could not talk about the subject.  I really wanted to talk about this because so many people have helped me through the process, and I hope that I can do the same for someone else.  I expressed my concerns to some of my friends in this course and they encouraged me to talk about this subject and I am glad they did.  Editing the slides with text and making sure the music was timed correctly was difficult for me.  It also took me awhile to figure out how to make the text run as long as the slide.  I do hope to work more with Video Editor and be able to become more comfortable working with it.  When watching this video, I hope you’re able to have a better understanding of what it is like to have a child in Marine Corp. boot camp.

Evolution of the WEB

I used Prezi to create a presentation explaining Web 1.0 to Web 3.0.  I have not used Prezi very much and was interested in using a new template.  The biggest challenge I had was designing the template to meet the needs of this project.  I like the different template options that Prezi offers and the more I worked with it, the more user friendly I felt it was.  After playing with it for a little bit, it was easy to move or add text boxes or pictures.  I think Prezi is a great option for presentations or future class assignments.

  1. Alani,
I may have cried a little watching your video. I can’t imagine wing separated from my daughter. I would be so proud but my momma heart would break. Thank you so much for your family’s sacrifice. I had no idea how isolated they are from the news. That is crazy but I’m sure it keeps them focused on the tasks at hand.
